Senior Buyer
On-site, New Jersey
Stelvio are working with a client at the forefront of automotive technology, developing advanced AI-driven inspection systems used across manufacturing, logistics, and fleet operations. Since its founding, the company has scaled rapidly, secured significant funding, and established partnerships with major global automotive and technology organizations. Their focus is on improving vehicle safety and reliability through cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing
- Create and track purchase orders, ensuring on-time delivery
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers
- Maintain accurate records of supplier agreements, pricing, and transactions
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid shortages or excess stock
- Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and budget requirements
- Resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, and supplier performance
- Handle urgent part requests and provide practical solutions
- Track and report on budgets, including spare parts and shipping costs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, R\&D, Engineering, and NPI teams
- Manage contract manufacturers to support scalability and product changes
- Implement procurement processes, tools, and policies to improve efficiency
- Own and drive key operational KPIs including on-time delivery, cost savings, and supplier performance
Qualifications
- 5\+ years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with ERP or purchasing systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Familiarity with workflow or project management tools (e.g., Monday.com)
- Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Proactive mindset with ownership of tasks and adaptability to change
- Understanding of budgeting processes
