Senior Communications Specialist

Our communications professionals have strong writing, editing, and analytical skills as well as the ability to successfully pitch stories to the media. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $225,000 to $400,000 annually. Salary will be determined based on experience, skills, and other related factors.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Relations

• Drafting and distributing press releases
• Building and managing relationships with journalists and media contacts
• Monitoring media coverage and analyzing public perception

Content Creation

• Writing and editing website content, articles, social media and blog posts
• Creation of engaging visuals and multimedia content to support client and Firm communications

Social Media Management

• Developing and executing social media campaigns
• Monitoring social media interactions

Crisis Communications

• Developing and implementing crisis communication plans
• Responding to negative media coverage and managing reputational issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 10\+ years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communications, with strong preference for political consulting, public affairs, or government-related work
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and platforms
• Demonstrated expertise in media relations, message development, and crisis communications, including experience serving as a senior spokesperson or advisor
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating with senior leadership and external partners
• Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies aligned with organizational or campaign objectives
• Advanced proficiency in social media platforms, digital communications tools, analytics, and generative AI software to inform strategy and enhance content production
