Senior Credit Analyst – Captive Finance (Remote, U.S.)
Compensation: $95,000–$130,000
A newly established captive finance organization within a global manufacturing enterprise is seeking a
Senior Credit Analyst
to help build and lead core credit capabilities from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape credit policy, underwriting standards, and automated decisioning frameworks at the earliest stage of a high‑growth platform.
About the Role
The Senior Credit Analyst will serve as a senior credit leader responsible for underwriting, portfolio quality, and the development of scalable credit infrastructure. This role blends hands‑on credit decisioning with strategic input into policy creation, automation, and system design.
You will support a broad internal population, including:
- Dealer floorplan and commercial retail credit channels
- Inside and outside sales teams
- Business support and operations
- U.S. and Japan‑based executive leadership
While the credit team partners closely with internal sales, this role does
not
work directly with dealers.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Decisioning
- Underwrite and approve wholesale floorplan and commercial retail applications
- Structure financing solutions aligned with risk appetite and profitability
- Ensure consistent application of credit standards
Financial Analysis
- Review financial statements, tax returns, guarantor strength, collateral, and cash flow
- Assess business viability and overall risk exposure
Risk Mitigation
- Identify structural, collateral, and credit risks
- Recommend and justify policy exceptions when appropriate
- Protect asset quality while supporting portfolio growth
Credit Policy Development
- Build and refine credit policies and underwriting standards
- Participate in loan committee discussions
- Help define risk parameters and internal scorecards
Automation \& Decisioning
- Partner with system architects to define credit rules
- Validate automated decision outputs
- Support implementation within the Loan Origination System
Ideal Candidate Profile
Top Qualifications
- 10\+ years of commercial lending experience
- Direct underwriting experience in both wholesale floorplan and commercial retail credit
- Background in captive finance within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Experience building or refining credit policy and participating in loan committees
- Comfortable operating in a build‑mode, high‑growth environment
Preferred Backgrounds
- Automotive captives (e.g., Ford Motor Credit, GM Financial)
- Equipment/agriculture finance (e.g., Kubota, Volvo Financial, Yamaha Motor Finance)
- Large manufacturer‑backed finance arms
- Commercial banks or credit unions with dealer‑based lending exposure
Ideal candidates will have
at least 5 years
within a manufacturing or captive finance setting.
