DW Search

DW Search is partnered with a leading global investment platform undergoing a large-scale data transformation, moving toward a federated, data mesh architecture.

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong Microsoft Fabric and Azure experience to support the build-out of a modern, scalable data platform. This role will focus on internal, desk-facing projects where data is directly used to drive investment and operational decision-making.

The Role

You will join a small, high-impact data team responsible for delivering production-grade data pipelines and enabling domain-led data ownership within a federated model.

This is not a central reporting function. You will be working closely with business stakeholders, building data products and pipelines that are actively used by investment and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure
  • Develop robust ELT workflows to transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets
  • Work directly with internal teams to deliver data solutions aligned to business needs
  • Contribute to the transition toward a data mesh / federated architecture
  • Optimise performance, scalability, and reliability of data platforms
  • Implement best practices across data modelling, governance, and pipeline design
  • Support analytics and AI use cases by ensuring high-quality, accessible data

Required Experience

  • Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer in production environments
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (essential)
  • Strong Azure experience (Data Factory, Synapse, or similar)
  • Advanced Python for data engineering and pipeline development
  • Strong SQL and data modelling experience (dbt preferred)
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow (or similar)
  • Solid understanding of modern data architecture principles (data mesh exposure beneficial)
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and infrastructure as code

Why Apply

  • High-impact, desk-facing work directly tied to commercial outcomes
  • Opportunity to work on a genuine data mesh transformation
  • Strong autonomy within a small, high-performing team
  • Fast-paced environment with meaningful ownership from day one
