You will lead a high-performing team of data scientists and collaborate cross-functionally to develop advanced analytical approaches, scalable modeling solutions, and intuitive data visualizations that support scientific discovery, regulatory readiness, and long-term product success.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop a team of \~5 data scientists supporting drug development across a defined therapeutic area
- Drive exploratory and hypothesis-driven analyses to inform clinical study design and development strategy
- Design and implement innovative approaches for integrating, mining, and visualizing complex, high-dimensional datasets
- Develop, validate, and deploy predictive models and scalable analytics pipelines
- Apply advanced AI, machine learning, and deep learning methods to multimodal clinical and omics data
- Partner closely with clinical, translational, informatics, and biostatistics teams to ensure aligned and impactful analytics
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, decision-ready insights for scientific and non-technical audiences
- Ensure analytical rigor, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards, SOPs, and best practices
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and innovation across analytics workflows
- Provide technical guidance to external partners on data standards, modeling approaches, and analysis practices
- Contribute to long-term strategy, technology roadmap development, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Education
- PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field)
Experience
- 10\+ years of relevant post-graduate experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative research
- Demonstrated experience leading teams with diverse technical backgrounds
- Proven ability to drive analytics strategy across complex, matrixed R\&D environments
Technical \& Leadership Expertise
- Deep expertise in clinical trial, observational, and real-world data analysis
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling (e.g., GLMs, nonlinear models, survival analysis)
- Advanced experience with AI, machine learning, and deep learning techniques
- Experience working with imaging, genomics, proteomics, and multimodal datasets
- Proficiency in R and Python within high-performance or cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS)
- Experience with NLP strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and scalable analytics solutions
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strategic mindset with the ability to execute long-term plans in fast-paced environments
Travel
- Up to 20% travel for meetings, conferences, or scientific congresses
Compensation
Competitive executive-level compensation, including base salary, incentive bonus, and equity components. Final compensation is determined by role scope, experience, and location.
Work Model
Hybrid role with regular on-site collaboration required. On-site presence is considered essential to enable innovation, scientific exchange, and cross-functional partnership.
