Job Description

This role leads Engineering, Tooling, Controls/Automation, and Continuous Improvement, partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and NPD. You will be accountable for results, not just strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvement and cost reduction
  • Lead hands-on troubleshooting to eliminate waste, scrap, downtime, and inefficiencies
  • Identify, justify, and execute

small to mid-sized capital projects

with quick ROI

  • Lead automation and controls initiatives that improve productivity and reliability
  • Build and execute a

practical, execution-focused CI plan

suited for an immature Lean environment

  • Partner daily with Operations and Maintenance to support execution
  • Support New Product Development with manufacturability, process readiness, and launches
  • Develop and lead a team of engineers, tooling, and controls resources through example
  • Track and improve KPIs such as OEE, scrap, downtime, cycle time, and cost per unit
  • Champion safety and compliance with a “Safety Without Compromise” mindset

  • Faster changeovers, improved uptime, and reduced waste
  • Engineering and CI efforts that directly support production, not slow it down
  • Strong trust and collaboration with Operations and Maintenance leadership

Non-Negotiable Experience

  • 8\+ years in plastics manufacturing with direct injection molding and blow molding experience
  • Proven success driving hands-on process improvement and cost reduction
  • Experience leading automation and controls projects
  • Track record of executing multiple small, high-impact capital projects
  • Strong collaboration history with Operations and Maintenance teams
  • Willingness to be on the floor — this is not a desk job

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related)
  • Master’s degree is a plus, not required
