Senior Instructional Designer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Knoxville, TN that is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to lead the design and delivery of complex learning solutions that support business objectives and performance outcomes. This role applies advanced instructional design expertise, partners closely with stakeholders, and serves as a trusted resource for learning strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-impact instructional materials for instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning formats, including eLearning, videos, job aids, and workshops
• Apply advanced adult learning principles, instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM), and learning technologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences
• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and analyze performance gaps to recommend strategic learning solutions
• Develop and oversee storyboards, scripts, and learning prototypes using tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar platforms
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to ensure instructional accuracy and alignment with organizational goals
• Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, learner feedback, and performance metrics; Recommend continuous improvement opportunities

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Master's degree, certification, or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience serving as a resource or mentor to less experienced team members; may lead projects or programs
• In-depth knowledge of instructional design theories, practices, and procedures
• Strong understanding of learning best practices and how instructional design integrates with broader business objectives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex or sensitive information and build consensus across teams
• Proven ability to solve complex problems using sound judgment and analysis of multiple data sources
• Ability to meet near-term targets while planning work on a monthly and quarterly basis

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability \& ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
