The
Senior Manager Procurement and Purchasing
is responsible for leading a growing team that supports all non-saleable purchasing activities for all aspects of the company including Corporate, Retail \& Marketing and Construction \& Maintenance Divisions. They will develop a buying strategy that identifies and purchases items that are both cost-efficient and of high quality. This position will also maintain positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records along with conducting analysis of all utilities including electric, gas, propane, telecommunications, water and sewer.

Responsibilities
- Appropriately staff a purchasing team for anticipated growth plans.
- Support and develop new business development opportunities.
- Develop strong, supporting business relationships with business units.
- Identify appropriate vendor to support the implementation of new inventory software.
- Manage warehouse inventories at appropriate levels.
- Analyze current sourcing strategies and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Regularly evaluate vendor network using a quantifiable ranking system. Establish action plan for underperforming vendors.
- Review existing vendor contract terms and negotiate with vendors for improved terms.
- Identify opportunities to contract new vendors to realize cost savings, improve response times and value provided.
- Ensure process is established for non-saleable inventory control and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Ensure repeatable process is created to maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Establish and manage RFP process for all major projects.
- Oversee the tracking and report of key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Prepare and manage budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Negotiate and perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Identify Spend Category for the sourcing including any Sub-Categories.
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience leading a procurement department in a related field.
- Working knowledge of retail industry and market conditions.
- Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of supplier or third-party management software.
- Solid organization, project management and planning skills.
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
