About U.S. Consumer Services
The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel \& Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.
About U.S. Insurance
The U.S. Insurance business at American Express is a critical and differentiated component of our value proposition, delivering embedded and fee-based protection products to Consumer, Small Business, and Corporate customers. Spanning a portfolio of 20\+ products and serving tens of millions of customers, this business reflects the strength of the Amex brand – offering trusted, premium products and experiences that reinforce customer engagement and loyalty while contributing meaningfully to revenue growth.
We are at an inflection point. We are reimagining our product strategy, customer experience, and distribution model to unlock the next phase of growth. This role sits at the center of that transformation.
As a Senior Manager, you will operate with a general manager mindset – owning strategy, product direction and commercial outcomes across a broad set of priorities. You will be expected to think holistically about the business, identify the most critical opportunities to drive growth and lead initiatives from concept through execution. This is not a narrowly defined product role; it requires a versatile leader who can move seamlessly between strategy, product development, partner engagement and P\&L ownership.
The ideal candidate is both a builder and strategist, someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings structure to complex problems, and is equally comfortable setting direction and driving delivery. You will play a key role in shaping the future of the business, working across a diverse set of internal and external partners to define and execute against a bold growth agenda.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and advance strategic pathways to grow the business
- Own strategic evaluations of key opportunities to scale growth, synthesize findings into a senior leadership-ready recommendation, and own product delivery for chosen path. Delivery will include close partnership with Technology and cross-functional teams to build 0 -\>1 solutions.
- Operate with full visibility into the product P\&L, identifying and pulling key levers to drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability
- Ensure a strong understanding of the product P\&L, identifying levers to accelerate revenue growth or improve unit economics.
- Set an uncompromising bar for product quality and customer experience, ensuring solutions are clearly differentiated and valued by customers.
- Build alignment and influence across senior stakeholders, synthesizing complex inputs into clear, actionable recommendations
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in product management, strategy, or related discipline, with a track record of driving measurable business impact
- Proven ability to lead complex, ambiguous initiatives and translate strategy into execution at scale
- Strong general management orientation, with comfort operating across strategy, product, commercial, and operational dimensions
- Exceptional analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect insights to business outcomes
- Ability to influence and collaborate across a broad set of stakeholders, including senior leaders and external partners
- Excellent communication skills, with experience distilling complex topics into clear narratives for executive audiences
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn and operate in a complex, regulated space
This is a unique opportunity to help define the future of a high-potential business within American Express. We are looking for a leader who brings both strategic rigor and a bias for action, someone willing to take on broad responsibility and drive meaningful enterprise impact.
We encourage applicants that feel they may be a great fit to apply, even if they do not meet 100% of the criteria mentioned above.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
