Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Power Distribution Equipment

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Salary: Up to $160,000 per annum

A growing engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of low and medium voltage power distribution equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, or related electrical infrastructure products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical structures and bussing for LV/MV switchgear assemblies

• Review customer specifications and develop compliant engineering solutions

• Utilize SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM tools for 3D design and documentation

• Support manufacturing, testing, installation, and project execution activities

• Drive design standardization, quality improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers

Requirements:

• 7\+ years' experience designing LV/MV switchgear, switchboards, or panelboards

• Strong experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and 3D modelling tools

• Knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing, and electrical power distribution equipment

• Proven project coordination and customer-facing experience

• PE license preferred
