Job Description

We're partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer that's looking to add a

Senior Product Design Engineer

to their engineering team. This is an opportunity to lead the design and development of innovative automotive products from concept through production while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the design and development of automotive intake, exhaust, and related mechanical components from concept through production.
  • Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using

SolidWorks

.

  • Apply

Design for Manufacturability (DFM/DFMA)

principles to optimize product performance and production efficiency.

  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and product specifications.
  • Design, build, and validate prototypes through testing and analysis.
  • Support design validation using FEA, airflow simulations, and other engineering tools.
  • Participate in design reviews and lead technical problem-solving efforts using methodologies such as

8D, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis

.

  • Support PPAP documentation and production launch activities.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects while ensuring schedules and deliverables are met.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7\+ years of mechanical product design experience in an

OEM or high-volume manufacturing environment

.

  • Strong proficiency with

SolidWorks

and 3D CAD modeling.

  • Experience with

GD\&T

, engineering drawings, and BOM creation.

  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as:
  • Plastic Injection Molding
  • Metal Stamping
  • Tube Bending
  • Welding
  • Strong understanding of DFM/DFMA principles.
  • Experience with prototype development, testing, validation, and production release.
  • Familiarity with PPAP, FEA, DOE, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience.
  • Experience designing intake, exhaust, filtration, or engine-related components.
  • Knowledge of airflow, thermal analysis, or CFD.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Concurrent Engineering experience.
  • CSWP or CSWE certification.
