Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who can own the strategy and do the work. You'll be our only designer, which means real ownership — of the design system, the methodology, and how this product looks and feels for years to come. This is a high-impact role for someone who thinks in systems, balances execution with vision, and wants to be the person who defines how a growing platform evolves across web and mobile.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Define and scale shared patterns, principles, and standards that promote quality, consistency, and velocity — ensuring visual and functional consistency across every product touchpoint
  • Build and maintain a robust, version-controlled design library and comprehensive style guides that serve as the single source of truth for design and engineering
  • Establish a scalable design methodology: define handoff processes, feedback loops, documentation standards, and the rituals that keep quality high at speed
  • Partner directly with Product and Engineering leadership to influence roadmap decisions — translating business goals into user-centric solutions
  • Work closely with PMs on a daily basis to shape problems before solutions are proposed, pressure-test requirements, and stay aligned through delivery
  • Plan and run user research sessions — interviews, usability tests, contextual inquiry — and translate what you learn directly into design decisions
  • Lead regular design reviews, creating a culture of honest, structured critique that improves output across the whole team
  • Execute end-to-end across the full design spectrum: UX research, wireframing, high-fidelity UI, and prototyping for complex workflows and multi-surface products
  • Identify and address usability gaps and workflow friction — proactively, not reactively
  • Actively integrate AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, accelerate iteration, and improve overall design output across the org
  • Raise the craft bar for the team around you — through feedback, documentation, and the work itself

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5–8\+ years of end-to-end product design experience — from ideation to polished UI — with a portfolio that shows strong UX thinking
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of craft
  • Proven experience building or significantly scaling a design system, including component architecture, tokenization, and library governance
  • Strong Figma proficiency — not just using it, but organizing it for others at scale
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end logic sufficient to design with code constraints in mind and hand off without ambiguity
  • Experience operating at both the strategic and execution levels — because as our only designer, you’ll need to do both
  • A systems thinker who defines patterns and principles, not just one-off screens
  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted design workflows — you’ve used them, you have opinions, and you’re actively exploring what’s next
  • Strong written communication: you document your decisions and can explain design rationale to any audience
  • Proven experience designing across both web and mobile surfaces — you understand the constraints and interaction patterns of each
  • Genuinely curious about our customers and product — you want to understand the industry, not just design for it

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience designing complex B2B SaaS products with multiple user personas — customers, third-party users, and internal tools
  • Background in or exposure to design ops, brand design, or motion
  • Experience as a founding or first/second designer in a fast-growth environment
  • Familiarity with atomic design principles and token-based theming at scale

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Design system:

Scalable, well-adopted, and trusted by both design and engineering

User experience:

Consistent, intuitive experiences across all modules and surfaces

Velocity:

Faster design and dev cycles through standardization, clear process, and AI adoption

Strategy alignment:

Product and design moving in the same direction from day one of discovery
