Position Overview

A leading national electrical contractor is seeking Project Executives and Senior Project Managers to lead delivery of large-scale hyperscale data center construction projects across the United States. These leaders will be embedded on-site or travel heavily, supporting fast paced, mission critical builds for major hyperscale clients.

Ideal candidates bring a strong background from a large electrical contractor or top-tier GC, with recent, hands-on experience delivering hyperscale data centers, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, production tracking, and owner relationships. Projects are highly technical, schedule driven, and capital-intensive, requiring leaders who understand earned value, cost controls, manpower optimization, and multi-trade coordination at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership \& Delivery
  • Provide full lifecycle leadership for hyperscale data center construction projects, from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
  • Serve as the primary on-site or traveling leader, accountable for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Drive execution across large field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal operations groups.
  • Financial \& Cost Controls
  • Establish and manage project budgets, cost codes, and forecasting aligned to earned value management principles.
  • Track and analyze labor productivity, unit rates, and production metrics against plan.
  • Lead monthly cost reviews, projections, and change management processes.
  • Identify risks and implement corrective actions to protect margin and schedule.
  • Scheduling \& Production Planning
  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6\.
  • Partner with field leadership to align manpower curves, production goals, and milestone tracking.
  • Coordinate work sequencing with owners, general contractors, commissioning teams, and other trades.
  • Technology \& Reporting
  • Utilize Procore for project controls, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and reporting.
  • Leverage Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM tools to support coordination and constructability.
  • Produce clear, data driven reports for internal leadership and hyperscale clients.
  • Client \& Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the senior point of contact for hyperscale owners, developers, and GC partners.
  • Lead owner meetings, progress reviews, and executive-level discussions.
  • Ensure alignment with client standards, safety culture, and delivery expectations.
  • Safety \& Quality
  • Champion a zero incident safety culture across all project sites.
  • Ensure rigorous QA/QC processes are followed, particularly on mission critical electrical systems.

Experience \& Qualifications

Required

  • 10–15\+ years of total construction management experience.
  • 3–5\+ years of direct hyperscale data center construction experience, ideally most recent roles.
  • Background with a large electrical contractor or Tier 1 GC, such as:
  • Cupertino Electric
  • Rosendin
  • IES
  • HITT
  • Turner Construction
  • DPR Construction

These are just examples of tier-1 companies the client would be seeking experience from. Similar companies and experience would suffice.

  • Demonstrated experience with:
  • Procore
  • Primavera P6
  • Autodesk / ACC
  • Earned Value Management
  • Cost code setup and job cost tracking
  • Labor production tracking and forecasting
  • Proven ability to lead large project teams across multiple phases and locations.

Preferred

  • Experience managing $50M–$300M\+ electrical scopes on hyperscale or mission-critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with hyperscaler standards (safety, reporting, turnover, commissioning).
  • Ability to relocate or maintain heavy travel schedules for extended project durations.
  • Strong knowledge/experience with electrical install as it pertains to hyperscale data center construction

Travel \& Work Environment

  • 75% travel and/or site-based relocation required.
  • Preferred travel schedule \= 2 weeks onsite, 1 weekend (Thurs-Mon/Tues) back home.
  • Projects typically last 6 to 12 months, with potential for reassignment to subsequent builds.
