Senior Python Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with an enterprise financial services client, is seeking a Senior Python Engineer team for their AI Enablement team!

This position is hybrid in Charlotte, NC and mandates 3 days on-site per week.

This position is focused on building the foundational tools that enable organization-wide AI adoption. You will be a key member of the Enablement Team, specifically working on the primary internal application used for AI access and experimentation. We are looking for an engineer who thrives in SDKs and pushes frequent releases using coding agents to move at high velocity. This position is for a builder who prefers working directly in the code.

Experience of the Right Candidate

• 5\+ years building incredible user experiences into applications and 2\+ years implementing cloud services.
• Strong proficiency in

Python

, specifically with

FastAPI

(Flask is a plus).

• Heavy experience with

React

and

JavaScript

.

• Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, ECS Fargate, ALB) and infrastructure-as-code via

Terraform

.

• Proficiency with

Git

Cypress

Storybook

• In-depth understanding of AI principles and Prompt Engineering methodologies.
• Expert knowledge of API design and integration is essential.

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate

• Work through user stories to deliver high-priority functionality for the internal AI access baseline application.
• Help build solutions for teams looking to develop agents and experiment with models (e.g., Claude) within secure, allowed frameworks.
• Handle both Python backend logic and React frontend requirements to create seamless internal tools.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure engineering best practices across the team’s codebase.
• Use Terraform and Git to manage infrastructure and versioning, ensuring rapid and stable release cycles.
