About Hinge Bio, Inc.

Hinge Bio, Inc. is a privately-held biotechnology company leveraging its powerful GEM‑DIMER™ platform to develop therapeutics that address the problems of resistance, inadequate efficacy, and side effects in the fields of immune-mediated disease, and cancer. The GEM-DIMER™ platform enables the creation of multivalent, multi-specific antibody-based therapeutics that are designed for enhanced biological activity and unique functionality.

GEM-DIMER™ technology uniquely enables modular design, efficient manufacturing, and precise targeting for a variety of target product profiles and has demonstrated encouraging preclinical efficacy and safety across multiple therapeutic programs.

Position Summary

Hinge Bio is seeking a creative and accomplished scientist to support discovery and advancement of immunotherapy candidates to IND-filings for autoimmune diseases and oncology. The position provides the opportunity to join a creative, energetic and innovative research and development team. This is a “hands on” role reporting to the Associate Director of Immunology and is expected to contribute to all aspects of the programs from early discovery to development.

This is an on-site position based at Hinge Bio’s labs and offices in Redwood City, CA.

Key responsibilities

·     Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of in vitro and ex vivo studies to characterize the mechanism, potency, and biological activity of GEM-DIMER™ therapeutic candidates.

·     Serve as the immunology lead for one or more discovery-stage programs, providing scientific direction and driving progression from target validation through candidate selection.

·     Develop innovative functional assays using primary human immune cells and disease-relevant systems

·     Collaborate with protein engineering, translational biology, and external partners to advance therapeutic candidates.

·     Design and oversee studies conducted at CROs.

·     Generate scientific insights that influence program strategy, lead optimization, and preclinical development.

·     Present findings and recommendations to project teams and research leadership.

·     Support advancement of the GEM-DIMER™ platform and foster scientific excellence within the team.

Required qualifications

·     Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with 4\+ years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience; or M.S. with 8\+ years of relevant industry experience.

·     Demonstrated experience contributing to therapeutic discovery programs and advancing candidates through key preclinical milestones.

·     Strong background in immunology and experience developing and applying cellular assays to support biologics or antibody therapeutics.

·     Hands-on expertise with primary human immune cells, multiparameter flow cytometry, cell-based functional assays

·     Proficient developing immunoassays by ELISA, MSD/Luminex, Incucyte, and/or other technology platforms.

·     Experience interpreting complex biological datasets and translating findings into actionable program recommendations.

·     Ability to independently lead projects while working effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

·     Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior scientific leadership

Bonus Experience

·     Autoimmune disease, inflammation, immuno-oncology, oncology, or infectious disease research

·     Multi-specific antibodies, antibody engineering, or other next-generation biologics

·     IND-enabling, including MoA, target engagement, receptor occupancy, PK/PD, efficacy, or safety studies

·     Familiarity with regulatory documentation and study reports supporting IND submissions

·     Advanced approaches such as spectral flow, HTS/automation, live-cell imaging, single-cell RNA-seq, transcriptomics, CRISPR/functional genomics, or high-dimensional immune profiling

·     In-vivo pharmacology or translational biomarkers
