Senior Shopify Developer

Our e-commerce platform is powered by Shopify Plus, and we are looking for a talented Senior Shopify Developer to join our team and help us continue to scale and innovate.

Position Summary:

The Senior Shopify Developer will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and optimization of our Shopify Plus storefront. This individual will play a key role in supporting our e-commerce growth initiatives, delivering best-in-class site performance, functionality, and user experience. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with deep expertise in Shopify’s ecosystem and a strong understanding of the DTC business model.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of our Shopify Plus store, ensuring scalable, performant, and reliable implementations
• Build custom themes, modify existing templates, and implement new features using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., eCommerce, Marketing, Creative, and IT) to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Ensure mobile-first, responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Optimize site speed, performance, and SEO best practices
• Develop and maintain private and public Shopify apps where needed to support unique business processes
• Integrate third-party services and platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, fulfillment, analytics, etc.)
• Stay current with Shopify platform updates and industry trends, proactively identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience and backend efficiencies
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior developers and contractors as needed

Qualifications:

• Work with Shopify themes and customize components using Liquid.
• Proven experience developing frontend applications using React and Redux.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with server-side rendering (SSR) in frameworks like Remix.
• Deep understanding of the Shopify platform and Liquid templating language.
• Understanding of responsive web design (RWD) and frontend performance principles.
• Working knowledge of Node.js for SSR and data integration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of SEO best practices.
• Experience working with GraphQL APIs.
• Exposure to Firebase and real-time data syncing.
• Knowledge of Shopify Hydrogen for headless e-commerce development.
• Ability to write unit and integration tests for frontend components.
