Lead System/SW Development Engineer

What you will do:

• Engineer and build a distributed platform from the ground up
• Turn complex ideas into working systems quickly
• Break down big problems into clear, executable tasks
• Lead a small team by building alongside them
• Debug real problems in real environments (cloud, on-prem, edge)
• Enforce system engineering rigor

This role requires someone who can move fast, provide component direction, and deliver working software—not just designs.

What we are looking for:

• 8–12\+ years building real systems (not just designing them)
• Strong hands-on coding (Go, Python, Java, etc.)
• Experience developing core platform components:
• APIs \& Microservices
• Event-driven systems (Kafka, etc.)
• Containerized environments (Docker/K8s)
• System to System and Data integration
• Translate product vision into working, deployable systems quickly (Idea \=\> Production)
• Break down architecture into clear engineering tasks and milestones
• Lead and mentor engineers through hands-on collaboration
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
• Strong problem-solving mindset — able to move quickly and unblock teams

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Zero Trust / Identity Systems
• Familiarity with AI/ML Integration Workflows
• Familiarity with Data Catalogs / Metadata systems
• Experience with API gateways / Service Mesh
• Experience with Real-time Data Systems
• Experience in federal, defense, or regulated environments
