About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Short-Form Video Editor to produce high-performing vertical content across platforms including Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit 30–120 second vertical videos from:

+ Studio talking-head recordings

+ Podcast, panel, and interview footage

• Optimize videos for engagement and retention by:

+ Crafting compelling hooks within the first 1–3 seconds

+ Maintaining tight, high-energy pacing

+ Structuring content for maximum watch-time

• Enhance content using:

+ Custom b-roll and overlays

+ Zooms, cuts, and motion effects

+ Screen recordings where applicable

+ On-brand captions and text animations

• Integrate music and sound effects to reinforce key moments and maintain viewer attention
• Ensure all edits align with an established personal brand voice and visual identity
• Collaborate within existing workflows and systems (primarily Notion)
• Take feedback and iterate quickly to improve performance and match creative direction

Qualifications:

• 2\+ years of experience editing short-form vertical video content (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
• Proven ability to create content that drives high retention and engagement
• Strong understanding of:

+ Hook creation and viewer psychology

+ Pacing and timing

+ Visual storytelling

• Advanced skills in:

+ Burned-in captions and animated text

+ Music selection and timing

+ Strategic use of sound effects

• Proficiency in at least one major editing software:

+ Adobe Premiere Pro

+ Final Cut Pro

+ DaVinci Resolve

• Experience working with layered timelines (video, graphics, audio)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience editing for content creators, influencers, or thought leaders
• Familiarity with educational, business, or tech-related content
• Ability to replicate and maintain a consistent brand style
• Experience working in remote teams and async workflows

Tools \& Workflow

• Primary collaboration tool: Notion
• Editing tools: Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
• Additional tools (nice to have): After Effects, CapCut, or similar
