Summary Of Position
Kindred Construction is a General Contractor and Construction Manager seeking committed, hardworking individuals who take pride in their work. We are currently looking for a Skilled Labourer to support our steady portfolio of residential and commercial new builds, tenant improvements, and institutional projects throughout the Lower Mainland.
The ideal candidate will possess strong basic carpentry skills, practical problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to work independently when required. This position requires a physically fit individual who is comfortable performing demanding construction tasks and handling heavy building materials.
Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidate will exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties and will work closely with the Site Superintendent to support project delivery.
General Labour And Skilled Labour Duties May Include
- Moving construction materials and performing general site cleanup.
- Assisting carpenters with miscellaneous carpentry tasks.
- Performing basic carpentry work, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing materials.
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Troubleshooting site issues and applying practical problem-solving skills.
- Working independently to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Operating machinery and equipment for various construction tasks, where qualified.
- Lifting and carrying heavy construction materials, including 3/4" plywood sheets and other building products.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Any level of OFA certification is considered an asset; willingness to obtain at minimum OFA Level 1 is required.
- Previous experience working on construction sites is required.
- Demonstrated basic carpentry skills and familiarity with common construction methods.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
- Familiarity with the materials, tools, and machinery commonly used on construction sites.
- Physically fit and capable of performing strenuous work for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy materials.
