This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a SME/Senior Enterprise Architect in United States.

This role is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced enterprise architecture professional to support the modernization and governance of large-scale federal IT ecosystems. You will play a key role in shaping enterprise-wide architecture strategies across business, data, application, and technology domains, ensuring alignment with federal mandates and mission priorities. Operating in a complex, matrixed environment, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders across government agencies to guide investment decisions, reduce redundancy, and drive modernization initiatives. The position requires deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and strong experience navigating federal governance structures. You will also contribute to the design of future-state architectures that emphasize cloud adoption, security, interoperability, and scalability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in mission-driven environments where architecture directly supports national-level programs and outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Support enterprise architecture program management, including roadmap development, portfolio rationalization, and lifecycle governance across federal IT environments
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts across business, data, application, and technology domains aligned with FEAF and TOGAF frameworks
  • Lead application portfolio rationalization and modernization initiatives to reduce redundancy and improve efficiency of IT investments
  • Manage and maintain enterprise architecture tools and repositories to ensure accurate, compliant, and audit-ready documentation
  • Support governance bodies by coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and documenting decisions across boards such as EARB, CAB, and IRB
  • Develop policies, standards, and procedures aligned with federal regulations including OMB A-130 and HHS EPLC
  • Conduct technical architecture reviews and assess feasibility, risks, and long-term impacts of proposed solutions
  • Promote modern architectural practices such as cloud-native design, Zero Trust, DevSecOps, microservices, and API-first approaches
  • Support federal reporting requirements including OMB data calls, GAO/OIG audits, and FITARA scorecard readiness
  • Facilitate cross-functional stakeholder engagement and develop executive-level briefings and technical documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • 10\+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, IT program management, or federal IT disciplines
  • Strong experience supporting U.S. federal agencies with knowledge of OMB policies, FITARA, and federal governance frameworks
  • Proficiency with enterprise architecture methodologies such as FEAF, TOGAF, or equivalent frameworks
  • Strong understanding of IT portfolio management, CPIC, TBM, and enterprise performance lifecycle processes
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews and supporting large-scale IT modernization initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to produce executive-level reports and presentations under tight deadlines
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business and mission-focused insights
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across multi-agency and cross-functional environments
  • U.S. citizenship required with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required
