What's the role?

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test - 1 to join our team at Jar in Bengaluru. As a Quality Assurance Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products and applications meet the required quality standards before they are released. You will be conducting manual testing across multiple platforms and working closely with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and address defects and bugs.

What will be your responsibilities?

Perform manual testing of mobile applications and APIs to ensure quality standards.

Design, maintain, and execute test cases based on business and functional requirements.

Log and track bugs using tools like Jira, identifying discrepancies between expected and actual results.

Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint ceremonies to share QA updates and raise concerns early.

Actively engage in the entire software test life cycle (STLC).

Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to improve feature quality and user experience.

Execute smoke, regression, and exploratory testing across different platforms and devices.

Assist in root cause analysis and provide clear defect reports.

What’s required from you?

1–3 years of hands-on experience in manual testing of API and mobile apps.

Familiarity with STLC, Java and basic SDET concepts.

Basic knowledge of tools like Postman, Charles Proxy, or Proxyman.

Strong debugging skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving.

Comfortable writing test cases and test plans from scratch.

Basic competence in writing and executing SQL/MongoDB queries.

Exposure to bug tracking systems like Jira.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication and collaboration skills.

A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
