Software Engineer

Mova

is building a one of a kind Conversational Analytics platform for improving human interactions at scale. We are looking for a full-stack software engineer to help implement customer-facing features across the entire Mova product.

You will work on real production systems used by enterprise customers, building everything from UI, backend, and data services. Your work will directly affect how our customers understand their employees and customers.

You will be supported by a senior team of builders, pairing and design together with a focus on our customers' success.

What you’ll do

  • Implement customer-facing features in Mova's conversational analytics platform
  • Work with sales and customer success to understand how customers use the system and how to extend and improve it.
  • Improve existing code and help ship new functionality - at Mova we learn and ship everyday.
  • Learn how a real SaaS product is built, deployed, and operated at scale.

You won’t be expected to design large systems on day one — rather we expect to collaborate with you and improve Mova every day. The role will report to the CTO.

Required skills

We expect you to have \>3 years or experience writing production software. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable writing production code and eager to learn:

  • BS. Computer Science or equivalent
  • Python (building APIs, services, or data integrations) in production environment
  • JavaScript (working with modern web UIs)
  • SQL (querying and working with real datasets)

You do not need to be an expert in everything — strong fundamentals and curiosity matter more.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Vue or another modern frontend framework
  • Experience building reactive or data-driven interfaces
  • Experience working with APIs or distributed systems

What your first 90 days look like

  • Get familiar with the codebase and development workflow
  • Ship bug fixes and improvements
  • Contribute to a larger feature (such as AutoCoach or Journeys) alongside more senior engineers

You’ll work on meaningful parts of the product, with guidance and review.

What your first year looks like

  • Take ownership of a feature with support from the team
  • Help diagnose and resolve issues as they come up
  • Become a go-to person the technical side of product
