Job Description
You'll be building the foundational data systems that power a platform helping small business owners buy their own buildings.
This is a proptech startup working at the intersection of real estate, data, and finance. You're helping structure deals that keep local businesses from getting priced out of their neighbourhoods by connecting them with investors and turning fragmented property data into actionable infrastructure. Fast-growing, mission-driven, solving a real problem.
You'll have serious ownership. This is zero-to-one work. You're not joining an established data team or inheriting someone else's architecture. You're designing and building core systems from the ground up, making decisions that will shape how the platform scales. You'll turn messy, large-scale datasets into clean, reliable infrastructure that the business runs on.
You're working directly with leadership, including the CEO and CFO. High accountability, high speed, deep technical execution. No hand-holding. You'll need to be comfortable operating in ambiguity and making architectural calls without a blueprint.
It's a small, high-caliber team. They care about strong engineering fundamentals, not buzzwords or specific tools. You need solid Python-based data engineering experience. You should be someone who can build systems that work, scale, and don't fall apart when the data gets weird.
The role is hybrid, based in their office with flexibility.
Base salary is $175k to $225k plus meaningful equity in a company that's growing quickly.
If you want hands-on technical work, real ownership, and a chance to build something from scratch in a company solving an actual problem, this is it.
