Job Description

About Prelude

Prelude is the regulated evidence platform built exclusively for animal health and nutrition—connecting discovery, clinical development, field studies, and post-market evidence into one continuous, audit-ready system.

We are the leader in animal health clinical trial R\&D software, serving many of the world’s leading animal health and nutrition companies with a platform purpose-built for regulated research. With more than two decades of domain expertise and over 1,000 studies supported, Prelude is helping modernize how animal health companies generate evidence from development through post-market research.

Role Description

The Solutions Engineer (SE) is the technical backbone of the Prelude sales cycle. Partnering closely with Account Executives, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering, the SE turns customer requirements into confident, credible demonstrations and scoped solutions — acting as the bridge between what a prospect needs and what Prelude can deliver.

This is a highly visible, cross-functional role. You'll lead product demonstrations, build pilot prototypes that show customers exactly how Prelude will work for their study, and be a trusted technical voice throughout discovery, scoping, and beyond. You'll also help build internal knowledge — educating the broader team on the platform and feeding customer insight back into Product and Marketing so Prelude keeps getting sharper.

This role reports into Sales leadership and works in lockstep with Account Executives on every active deal, while maintaining close, proactive relationships with Customer Success to bring deep platform and industry knowledge into every conversation.

This role is hybrid (Tuesday-Thursday in office) and is based in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a pre-sales or technical sales role within the SaaS industry, with a strong preference for experience in Life Sciences and Clinical Data Management Systems.
  • Deep expertise in designing and demonstrating technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and persuasive presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with sales, customer success, and product teams. A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and solution development.
