Speech Language Pathologist in Chesterton, IN

An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized support to students in a school setting in Chesterton, IN. This full-time, onsite contract position offers 35 hours per week for the 26-27 school year and focuses on delivering targeted speech therapy services to a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver speech-language therapy addressing assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive/expressive language delays.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations and testing as appropriate.
• Prepare clear, comprehensive reports based on student assessments and observations.
• Work confidently with students aged 2 to 22 with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives.
• Collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary team members to discuss student progress and support needs.

Qualifications

• Indiana Professional License (IPLA) and a valid teachers license from the Department of Education (IDOE) are required, or eligibility to obtain them.
• Preferred 1 to 2 years of professional experience as an SLP in educational settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
