We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong skills in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role is responsible for the administration, performance, security, and availability of enterprise database environments supporting critical business applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing both on-premises and cloud-based database platforms, implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and collaborating with infrastructure and application teams to optimize database performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
- Monitor database health, performance, and availability while proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Perform database installations, upgrades, patches, migrations, and version upgrades.
- Configure and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Oracle Data Guard, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Develop and optimize T-SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, and database objects.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to meet business continuity objectives.
- Administer databases hosted in AWS, including Amazon RDS for SQL Server and Oracle, Amazon EC2, EBS, S3, and related cloud services.
- Plan and execute database migrations between on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
- Implement database security, encryption, user access management, auditing, and compliance best practices.
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, SQL Agent Jobs, or other scripting tools.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to support application deployments and database changes.
- Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Participate in production support, incident response, root cause analysis, and on-call rotations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5\+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience administering Oracle Database.
- Hands-on experience supporting databases in AWS, including Amazon RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services.
- Experience with SQL Server Always On, Failover Clustering, Oracle Data Guard, and disaster recovery planning.
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Experience implementing database backup, recovery, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with database monitoring and administration tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
