Sr. Database Administrator

Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team and help manage a modern hybrid data platform spanning both on-premises and cloud technologies.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the administration, performance, security, and availability of enterprise database platforms while also contributing to our DevOps initiatives. You'll support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, environment management, infrastructure coordination, and release processes that improve the reliability and efficiency of both database and application delivery.

You'll Manage And Support Technologies Including

• SQL Server Managed Instance
• Azure SQL
• Azure Database for PostgreSQL
• InfluxDB

You'll work closely with Application Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Business Intelligence teams to support production systems, automate deployments, improve database performance, and ensure our data platforms remain secure, scalable, and highly available.

What You'll Do

• Administer and support enterprise database environments across on-premises and Azure cloud platforms.
• Manage database performance, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Support database security, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Implement database schema changes and release automation using Flyway and GitHub Actions (Jenkins experience is a plus).
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide operational support for mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on deployments, application releases, and data initiatives.
• Contribute to DevOps practices supporting database and application delivery.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.

What We're Looking For

• 5\+ years of database administration experience.
• Strong experience with SQL Server (on-premises), Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instance, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience supporting InfluxDB or other time-series databases.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, and database security.
• Experience with Flyway, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD processes.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience supporting production environments and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and modern data platform concepts is a plus.
• Experience with Delinea or other privileged access management solutions is preferred.
