This position is responsible for leading a team or multiple teams with primary responsibilities that include ensuring data quality, creation of new data pipelines, optimization and management of existing data pipelines, ingestion and curation of data sources for analytical purposes, and transformations of structured and unstructured data into formats suitable for machine learning and advanced analytics. As data science products are operationalized, they will lead deployment and ensure products are production-ready and run smoothly. They will work closely with it on implementation of data products where traditional application development support is needed. Please note, this is a HYBRID position and will require 3 days/week in-office hours at the respective office location.

Required Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of work experience in a computer science, engineering, or related field OR Master’s degree and 6 years of work experience in a computer science, engineering, or related field OR Ph.D. and 4 years of work experience in a computer science, engineering, or related field
• 4 year management or leadership experience.

• Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in at least five and mastery in one of the following six areas:
• data analysis and relational-style query languages
• data pipelining and ETL
• working with semi-structured and unstructured data
• a high-level programming language
• distributed computing
• understanding of healthcare.
• Iterative development practices.
• Independently delivering or leading the delivery of data engineering solutions for multiple complex analytics or data science projects and products.
• Overseeing the annual budget and allocating resources for various projects and operational needs.
• Translating needs and initiatives into compelling business cases.
• Conducting cost-benefit analyses to justify investments and ensure ROI.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a computational field, or Bachelor’s degree with significant healthcare experience
• SQL, Hive, and Pig
• Java and Scala
