Job Description

Position Overview

This role leads the engineering and maintenance strategy for a 600,000 sq. ft. high-volume manufacturing facility, with direct impact on equipment reliability, process capability, operational efficiency, and cost performance.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Manager will own reliability performance and process capability across the facility, leading both daily execution and long-term strategy. This includes advancing preventative and predictive maintenance programs, driving capital investment initiatives, and building a high-performing team that supports production at scale.

What You’ll Own

  • Reliability and process capability strategy and execution across all production and facility equipment
  • Maintenance performance, including uptime, downtime reduction, and response effectiveness
  • Capital projects, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Development of maintenance systems, processes, and team capability
  • Alignment with operations to meet daily production and long-term business goals

Key Challenges \& Impact

  • Improve equipment uptime and reduce unplanned downtime in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Strengthen and scale preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Drive measurable improvements in KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and overall equipment effectiveness
  • Lead capital and automation projects that increase throughput and reduce cost
  • Build and develop a strong maintenance and engineering team focused on accountability and performance

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve reliability and minimize downtime
  • Lead all maintenance and repair activities for production equipment and facility systems
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions for equipment failures
  • Establish and monitor KPIs (downtime, MTBF, MTTR, etc.) and use data to drive decision-making
  • Lead capital projects including equipment upgrades, automation, and facility improvements
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality
  • Partner closely with operations to optimize equipment performance and production throughput
  • Ensure all work is executed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Lead safety initiatives, audits, and risk mitigation efforts within the department
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including scope, cost, and performance
  • Develop and manage maintenance and capital budgets
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the site
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance and engineering leadership and teams
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading maintenance and/or engineering in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Track record of improving equipment reliability and capability, uptime, and operational performance
  • Experience leading teams, developing talent, and driving accountability
  • Strong experience with preventative/predictive maintenance systems and capability programs
  • Experience leading capital projects and working with automation or process improvements
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in high-volume or highly automated production settings
  • Exposure to Lean, TPM, or other continuous improvement methodologies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field is required.
  • Experience in made-to-order manufacturing preferred
