Job Description

About The Role

Leading in a high-growth environment means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As a Senior Technical Program Manager in Delivery (Uber Eats), you will drive structure and coordination for large-scale, complex engineering initiatives that power the bedrock of the platform-from core service layers to data infrastructure that supports millions of real-time transactions. This role is about navigating the reality of modernizing critical products and security frameworks while the business moves at high velocity.

You will be a strategic operator and cross-functional influencer, owning the end-to-end lifecycle of technical programs that span Product, Engineering, Data Science, and others. You will make data-driven decisions on prioritization, manage complex dependencies, and impact global reliability and data privacy. We are looking for a professional who can solve architectural puzzles and elevate technical program management standards across a global organization.

  • 35% Driving program execution, removing technical roadblocks, and managing cross-team dependencies.
  • 25% Strategic planning: roadmap development, resource allocation, and alignment with leadership.
  • 20% Technical oversight: reviewing architectural designs, evaluating risks, and proposing alternatives.
  • 20% Stakeholder management, communication of program health, and process innovation.

What The Candidate Will Do

  • Lead complex technical programs from inception to delivery, resolving cross-team dependencies and evaluating risks in real-time.
  • Partner with engineering leads to conceptualize architectural solutions and translate product visions into detailed execution roadmaps and resource plans.
  • Drive execution velocity by identifying systemic bottlenecks, managing escalations, and removing obstacles to maintain project momentum.
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence, implementing continuous improvements to program management processes.
  • Navigate high-stakes ambiguity by balancing priorities across diverse stakeholders, including leadership, technical teams, and legal/compliance partners.
  • Use a data-driven approach to define program KPIs, track progress, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5\+ years of experience in technical program management or software development leadership.
  • Experience shipping large-scale programs while managing scheduling, resource planning, and stakeholder communication for senior-level audiences.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand distributed systems and translate technical issues into prioritized actions.
  • Experience predicting execution risks and building data-backed proposals to achieve team alignment.
  • Experience with the product development lifecycle, including creating technical documentation (such as PRDs or ERDs).
  • Experience driving efficiencies through process definition, runbooks, or tooling automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in software engineering or engineering management
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau) to drive analysis and automation.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CISA, CISSP, or CIA.
  • Ability to resolve ambiguity in fast-paced environments and manage hands-on technical challenges.
