The Opportunity
CACI is actively seeking a Statistician to support Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona. As a Statistician you will support one of the departments within NSWC Corona and provide expertise in support of multiple technical projects with a variety of stakeholders/sponsors.
Responsibilities
- Develop regression and Bayesian reliability models - To support the Weapons Assessment Division in developing statistical models in R, SAS, Python, or other statistical tools to assess these weapons throughout their lifecycle in order to identify reliability, availability, and maintainability trends, quantify reliability factors, and determine program(s) risks that enable decision makers to manage such assets with severe impact to readiness assessment mission for ordnance if not performed. Work may require access to classified space.
- Provide metrics with a team - Developed metrics at strategic process points that allow effective control of the process flow. Work may require access to classified space.
- Research and development on technical solutions - Incumbent is expected to research particular technical or workload problems and present the subject matter with cost effective or technical solutions to project managers, community and other public forums.
- Performs missile reliability analysis - Develops reliability models at the round, section, plate, and component levels and performs missile reliability analysis using approved standards, procedures, and work instructions. Work requires access to classified space.
- Publications and development of statistical methodologies – Works with the team to write, publish, and present reliability methodologies, studies, results, and assessment reports.
- Work within multiple databases; generating queries to pull specific data, understanding the structure/relationships of tables, and more.
- Generate reports on various ordnance aspects including firings, maintenance, and productions.
- Work with sponsors to improve current data products and analysis processes.
- Collaborate with fellow data analysts across multiple projects.
- Support additional projects within CACI (Potential).
- Provide recommendations for process development and improvement.
- Contribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited to no guidance
- Develop and produce documentation, reports, and presentation slide decks.
- Prepare and present briefing materials to staff, executives, and federal customers. Interactions involve client meetings and interfacing with senior management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s Degree and 1\+ years of experience or bachelor’s degree and 5\+ years of experience
- Knowledge in the field of Statistical Theory, Modeling, and Analysis
- Knowledge of one of the prevalent statistical coding languages. I.E. R, SAS, Python
- Ability to work within a team
- Attention to detail and resourcefulness
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

- Knowledge of Data Science
- Knowledge of data COTS tools
- Knowledge of Naval Ordnance including the various missile programs

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is
$58,400 - 116,900 USD
