We are looking for a
Statistician
to join us in our
Biometrics and Data Science
team, based in our Shanghai office
What You’ll Do
- Can provide direction of the biometrics (statistics) team at the study level, or a biometrics (statistics) team in a specific area (e.g., safety, launch, pre-clinical) in aspects of trial level design, analysis or reporting
- Contributes to and influences the translation of strategy to tactical planning, operations, and quality
- Expected to work closely with the PLS to support in providing guidance in the overall strategy to the Development and Regulatory leads
- Aides in reviewing and producing deliverables from the biometrics (statistics) team to the larger study team
- Contributes to the continuous learning and upskilling culture for a modern Biometrics (Statistics) organization
- Supports the transformation of the statistics operating model
- Work closely with peers across BDS, implement the UCB Data Strategy, and critical business functional areas to ensure functional excellence and collaboration
- Operates as a change ambassador
- Study accountability leading to high quality internal decision making and external stakeholders
I
nterested? For this role we’re looking for the following
education, experience
and
skills
- Master’s Degree (preferred) in Biostatistics or Statistics or Bachelors (with relevant experience)
- Entry level for Master’s degree with prior experience in a placement/internship with a pharma/biotech
- Basic knowledge of drug development across all phases
- Influencer and collaborator
- Acts with a measured sense of urgency
- Experience in communicating complex quantitative ideas clearly with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel, in local and international environments
- Has the ability to translate ideas and inferences to non-experts
- Proficient in a statistical programming language (e.g., SAS or R) and sample size and simulation software (e.g., EAST, nQuery, WinBugs, etc)
- Basic experience with designing, analyzing, and reporting Phase I-IIIB clinical trials; can be in an academic setting.
- Basic knowledge of Drug Development and SDTM/ADaM CDISC standards
