Sterilization Attendant

Job Purpose

:

The role holder is responsible for implementing efficient cross infection controls and processes to provide clean and sterile instruments which are used in the daily practice in the Dental clinics.

Responsibilities

:

▪ Assists in the sterilization process of all instruments and devices.

▪ Supports in all decontamination of instruments within the Department.

▪ Assists in restocking of supplies to ensure seamless supply to the department.

▪ Receives, dis-assembles and cleans contaminated equipment according to accepted clinic standards as per established protocols to assure the sterility of instrument delivered to the Dental Hospital.

▪ Carries out responsibilities and demonstrates commitment to infection control standards to contribute towards the provision of a safe and healthy work environment for the organization.

▪ Disposes waste items, chemical and hazardous materials to assure safe working environment.

▪ Complies with applicable precautions for environmental safety, infection control, using a series of interventions that minimize or prevent cross infection.

▪ Participates in reporting all malfunctions and changes in the parameters to ensure safe sterilization process.

▪ Maintains record of different processes in the system to effectively track monitor the sterilization process and equipment.

▪ Complies with quality assurance and patient’s safety standards to ensure best practice patient care delivery.

▪ Reports shortage of materials to the Senior sterilization attendant at earliest convenience.

▪ Recognizes and institutes procedures to minimize iatrogenic and occupational hazards related to the practice of dentistry.

Assists in providing monthly departmental reports whenever required.

▪ Participate in health campaigns, medical events, and CSR activities, internally and as well as externally whenever required.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of Sterilization Certificate from an institution recognized by Dubai Health Authority (DHA)

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in sterilization and infection control
