Location: Berkeley, CA — 100% Remote

Type: 6\+ Month Contract

About the Role:

Client is seeking a Technical Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead to support complex, multi-team delivery initiatives across networking, distributed systems, and API-driven platforms. This role extends beyond traditional Scrum facilitation, requiring the ability to operate effectively in a highly technical environment, coordinating efforts across software, infrastructure, and architecture stakeholders.

Essential Duties \& Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple Scrum teams utilizing Agile methodologies within sprint or Kanban environments.
• Own and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
• Coach the organization and technical leads to adhere to Scrum practices, focusing on delivering tangible value to real users.
• Support planning and reporting activities using tools such as Jira.
• Assist teams in achieving higher levels of Scrum maturity and self-organization.
• Foster an environment of accountability where team members feel ownership of the product.
• Support Product Owners with backlog management, scope definition, stakeholder requests, and prioritization.
• Build and maintain reports for team and management perspectives, including burndown charts, project planning, and capacity analysis to provide ongoing insights and recommendations.
• Conduct activities such as story point estimation, roadmap adjustments, quarterly planning, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
• Accelerate team performance by resolving conflicts, removing impediments, and minimizing context switching.
• Cultivate a team culture that emphasizes commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage, while upholding transparency, inspection, and adaptation principles.

Education \& Experience:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP).
• 5\+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner in a software development environment.
• Experience with Jira for planning and reporting.
• Proven experience coaching teams new to Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working on cloud-native projects, especially those involving hybrid cloud and on-premises systems.
• Familiarity supporting cloud-based platforms using microservices architecture.
• Ability to manage large teams (100\+ developers) or multiple teams (10\+).
