Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Test and Simulation Engineer to join our team. Duties would include performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to simulate seismic or wind loading, travel to oversee shake table testing of equipment, preparing test reports and certification documentation. The Testing and Simulation Engineer will also become a subject matter expert capable of serving as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring successful communication and support throughout the certification process. The position will be based in Bend, Oregon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on equipment to ensure compliance with building codes and certification standards.
  • Travel up to 20% of workdays to supervise shake table testing as part of product certification.
  • Author detailed test reports and certification documentation.
  • Maintain proactive communication and interface with clients to address needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project deadlines and compliance requirements are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university. Preferred degrees are Mechanical, Civil/Structural, or Energy Systems Engineering, but any engineering discipline will be considered.
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience. Both experienced and entry-level candidates will be considered with commensurate compensation.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Ability to travel to seismic test laboratories as required.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently in a remote capacity.
