Job Description

Ready to build the tools that build everything else?

Do you enjoy transforming drawings into high‑precision jigs, fixtures, dies, machine tools, cutting tools, and gauges? Can you switch gears between toolmaking and production machining as a true job‑shop pro? If so, this role is for you.

Your impact

  • Turn part prints into accurate tooling using both manual and toolroom machinery.
  • Read blueprints; measure with calipers and micrometers; verify tolerances; and modify existing tooling when necessary.
  • Keep the toolroom audit‑ready: sharpen tools, confirm toolholders are in good condition, and return items to drawers/shelves prepared for use.
  • Log tooling in/out and help maintain inventory by repairing items or initiating requisitions for replacement parts, tools, and hardware.
  • Set up and operate lathes and other toolroom machines to create form tools, taps, drills, and holders; perform grinding as required.
  • Build complete setup kits for any machine to accelerate changeovers.
  • Dial‑in machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, amounts, dimensions, and material flow.

Must‑haves

  • Preferred background: heading experience within the fastener industry.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality system expectations.
  • Calm, clear communicator—phone, email, written notes, and face‑to‑face—with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Organized multitasker who moves quickly between priorities with minimal errors/omissions.
  • Strong deductive reasoning to apply general rules to specific technical problems.
  • Ability to adjust machine parameters and perform basic maintenance on heading equipment.
  • Competence reading blueprints and using micrometers and calipers.
  • Always follows OSHA and company safety procedures.

Onsite collaboration

Work closely with production from a single, 100% onsite location to keep tooling available and reliable.
