Job Description
About Us:
We are building next-generation swarm UAV systems designed for disaster response, search \& rescue, and climate resilience. Our platform combines a central “mothership” drone with coordinated autonomous units to rapidly map, detect, and assist in critical situations.
Our mission: Save lives through intelligent aerial systems.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled UAV Systems Engineer with deep PX4 expertise to lead the design, development, and scaling of our drone platforms. This role bridges hardware manufacturing, flight control systems, and real-world deployment.
Key areas of oversight responsibility:
PX4 \& Flight Systems
- Develop, customize, and optimize PX4-based flight stacks
- Integrate and tune controllers (PID, EKF, sensor fusion)
- Implement autonomous flight behaviors and multi-UAV coordination logic
- Work with MAVLink, QGroundControl, and simulation environments (Gazebo, SITL)
UAV Hardware \& Manufacturing
- Design and iterate drone hardware (frames, propulsion, power systems)
- Oversee prototype-to-production transition
- Select and integrate sensors (thermal, RGB, GPS, IMU, etc.)
- Ensure durability for harsh environments (wind, debris, low visibility)
Swarm \& Systems Integration
- Collaborate on swarm architecture (communication, redundancy, failover)
- Optimize payload capacity and flight efficiency
- Integrate onboard compute (NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
Testing \& Deployment
- Conduct flight testing and debugging in real-world conditions
- Develop safety protocols and redundancy systems
- Support field deployments and pilot operations when needed
Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience with PX4 Autopilot (custom firmware, tuning, integration)
- Hands-on experience building and flying UAVs (multirotor preferred)
- Solid understanding of:
- Flight dynamics \& control systems
- Embedded systems (C/C\+\+, Python)
- Sensor integration \& calibration
- Experience with MAVLink ecosystem and ground control software
- Familiarity with simulation tools (Gazebo, SITL)
Pay: $50,000\.00 - $100,000\.00 per year
