Job Description

About The Role

We are looking for a deeply curious and insight-driven UX Researcher to help us understand how people connect, communicate, seek guidance and build trust in digital spaces.

You will lead research across the product lifecycle, from identifying unmet user needs and validating early concepts to evaluating live experiences and uncovering the reasons behind engagement, retention and drop-offs. Your research will directly influence product strategy, design decisions and the evolution of our consumer platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research across different stages of product development.
  • Use interviews, contextual inquiries, diary studies, usability testing, surveys and behavioural analysis to understand users.
  • Translate broad product questions into clear research objectives, hypotheses and research plans.
  • Evaluate user journeys, prototypes and live product experiences to identify friction, unmet needs and opportunities.
  • Study user behaviour around identity, anonymity, trust, privacy, community participation and digital networking.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Growth, Engineering and Data teams to integrate research into everyday decision-making.
  • Build user personas, behavioural segments, journey maps and opportunity frameworks grounded in real evidence.
  • Analyse research findings alongside product metrics such as activation, engagement, retention and feature adoption.
  • Conduct competitive and category research to identify emerging user behaviours and experience patterns.
  • Present findings through compelling narratives, clearly separating observations, interpretations and recommendations.
  • Maintain a structured research repository that allows teams to access and reuse insights.
  • Establish continuous research practices, including regular user conversations and rapid concept validation.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–6 years of experience in UX research, user research, design research, behavioural research or a related field.
  • Strong command of qualitative research methods and working knowledge of quantitative approaches.
  • Experience conducting usability studies for mobile or consumer-facing digital products.
  • Ability to move beyond what users say and uncover the underlying motivations behind their behaviour.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify patterns across incomplete or conflicting information.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment where products and assumptions evolve quickly.
  • Comfort working closely with designers, product managers, data analysts and engineers.
  • Familiarity with research and analytics tools such as Maze, Dovetail, UserTesting, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience researching social, community, networking, marketplace or content-led products.
  • Understanding of behavioural science, psychology, sociology or human-computer interaction.
  • Experience studying early-stage products and helping teams discover product-market fit.
  • Exposure to experimentation, cohort analysis, retention research and mixed-method studies.
  • Experience conducting research with diverse user groups across different institutions, cultures or geographies.

What Success Looks Like

  • Product decisions are backed by meaningful user evidence rather than assumptions.
  • Research reveals not only usability problems but also deeper behavioural and strategic opportunities.
  • User insights lead to measurable improvements in activation, engagement, trust and retention.
  • Research becomes a continuous part of product development rather than a one-time activity.
  • Teams develop a shared and evolving understanding of their users.
