Job Title
: Vice President, Corporate Communications, APAC, WMG (Hong Kong based)
Warner Music Group is looking for a seasoned, high-caliber communications leader to spearhead the corporate narrative for both Warner Recorded Music and Warner Chappell Music across the APAC region. In this influential role, you will act as a strategic advisor to regional Presidents and senior leadership, bridging the gap between global initiatives and local execution. You will be responsible for crafting high-impact press strategies, managing sensitive crisis communications, and driving internal engagement campaigns that resonate across a diverse workforce.
As a key member of the global Corp Comms team, you will amplify Asia-Pacific’s biggest stories on a worldwide stage while overseeing regional talent and managing complex political communications.
Here you’ll get to:
- Be responsible for coordinating all corporate communications for Warner Recorded Music and Warner Chappell Music in the APAC region (East and South Asia, and Australasia)
- Offer strategic counsel to the President of Warner Music APAC (recorded music) and the President of Warner Chappell Music Asia-Pacific (music publishing), their senior regional leaders, and heads of affiliates
- Be part of the global WMG Corp Comms team, adapting global initiatives for a regional audience and amplifying the key stories coming out of our Asia business for a worldwide stage
- Report to the SVP, Corporate Communications in London, and be supported by a Communications Manager in the region. You’ll also manage the Director of Corporate Communications for WM Japan
- Craft external press strategies to promote corporate executives and business initiatives; research and write high-impact press releases, news items, speeches, talking points on behalf of the company and its executives. You’ll develop and maintain media contacts across APAC.
- Help coordinate the communications response to crisis situations across social media, the press and internally
- Develop and drive internal communications campaigns for a number of corporate executives across the global organisation
- Oversee the organisation and smooth running of in-house events involving artists, guest speakers and others
- Manage political communication at the local and national levels
The ideal candidate will:
- Have at least 15 years’ experience in Corporate Communications or an associated field
- Be confident at dealing with people from different backgrounds and your persuasiveness and confident demeanor set you apart. Thanks to your excellent communication skills, you always find the right words and tone for any target audience
- Have assumed leadership responsibility with the ability to work in a pressurized environment with conflicting priorities and managing crisis communications a part of their expertise
- Have a warm, friendly, collaborative working style
- Demonstrate a real passion for music
- Fluent in English; Chinese proficiency is highly advantageous
This position requires a minimum of four days per week in the office. We value in-office collaboration and believe it’s essential for talent development and fostering strong working relationships
