VP of Engineering

Insight are partnered with an autonomy start-up who need a people-first VP of Engineering who excels at developing talent and creating the structure for engineers to do their best work.
If you thrive in fast-paced environments and want to own the full employee lifecycle - from whiteboarding team structures to scaling a distributed organization - this is for you.
You’ll partner closely with the CTO and CEO to ensure people and processes scale effectively, mentoring tech leads and building a culture of accountability and impact.
What you need:
- Handled deep technical problems
- Experience in relevant "Deep Tech" sectors such as software/hardware integration, physical installs, quant computing, robotics, space tech, climate/energy tech, biotech or next-gen AI
- 10\+ years engineering experience
- 3\+ years managing senior-level engineers
- Proven ability to scale high-performing technical teams within a startup environment
- Experience implementing performance systems, leveling frameworks, and career paths
- Excellent communication and the ability to earn trust across both technical and business stakeholders
