Summary:
The Vice President, Manufacturing – Cement serves as the senior cement plant operational leader responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across a large and complex regional footprint. This role directly supports our mission to Rebuild way our world is built by ensuring our cement manufacturing operations achieve world-class safety, production reliability, product quality, cost leadership, and environmental stewardship. Working in close partnership with the Region President, the VP Manufacturing, provides leadership to Plant Managers, aligns operational performance with financial goals, aligns with the commercial team on customer service and product solutions, and drives a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. The VP Manufacturing oversees all manufacturing activities including production, maintenance, engineering, capital planning, logistics, talent development, and compliance with regulatory and corporate standards, while also supporting growth through the future by implementation of new cementitious products, identifying and delivering strategic CX and fostering the development of key talent within the organization.
What you’ll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Establishes, communicates, and assigns job responsibilities, goals, and performance standards for direct reports. Ensure job responsibilities, goals, and performance standards for plant employees have been established and communicated. · Champions a world‑class safety and people driven culture, ensuring adherence to the CRH Code of Business Conduct, MSHA, environmental, and internal safety standards.
- Provides strategic leadership for all cement plants in the region, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational excellence standards.
- Creating new and better customer-focused ways for the organization to be successful.
- Attracting, growing, retaining and deploying people to enhance performance, empower talent, and build capability for tomorrow.
- Influences the organization to approach its delivery based on customer input and value-adding solutions. Contributes to building an organization’s customer-centric capability.
- Recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to the organization, seeking out, embracing and aligning differences to ensure that all talent flourishes.
- Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances. Drives operational reliability through proactive maintenance strategies, asset care programs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Oversees production planning, inventory management, and coordination with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to meet customer demand and optimize cost‑per‑ton.
- Partners with Finance to develop and manage annual budgets, capital plans, and long‑range operational forecasts.
- Evaluates and approves major capital investments, ensuring strong ROI and alignment with long‑term asset strategy.
- Ensures plant compliance with all federal, state/provincial, and local environmental requirements and corporate sustainability initiatives.
- Conducts ongoing operational reviews, including dashboards, audits, KPIs, and site visits, to ensure performance consistency and rapid issue resolution.
- Collaborates cross‑functionally with Technical Services, Quality, HR, Environmental, and Commercial teams to support customer solutions, regional and corporate initiatives.
- Identifies and mitigates operational risks, while promoting technological advancements that enhance safety, cost, efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
- Maintains strong external relationships with industry associations, regulators, suppliers, and engineering partners.
- Serves as a member of the Region Leadership team to accomplish strategic objectives, long-term growth aspirations and people's development across the Ash Grove platform.

To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Minimum of a 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Geology or Related Field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership role in cement manufacturing. Experience leading multiple large-scale facilities across broad geographic regions
- Minimum of 10 years in demonstrated success in P\&L oversight, budget management, capital planning, strategic planning and operational transformation. This includes the ability to coach high performing teams and build succession pipelines.
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
