Role Description
This full-time, on-site role for a Welder, Pipefitter, Industrial Mechanic is based in the Hampton Roads, Virginia Metropolitan Area. The role involves performing welding tasks on a variety of materials and alloys, fitting and installing process piping systems, and assembling, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment in chemical, heavy industrial, and power generation facilities. Daily responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and specifications, preparing and aligning materials, performing high-quality welds, and verifying weld integrity through visual checks and appropriate testing. The position also includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, supporting plant outages and shutdowns, and working safely in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong welding skills, including Welding and Arc Welding, with the ability to perform reliable structural and pipe welds.
- Candidates should possess advanced process welding skills, including TIG Welding and MIG Welding, suitable for working with various industrial applications.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Materials, including ferrous, non-ferrous, and exotic alloys, and understand appropriate welding and handling techniques.
- Experience in pipefitting, including layout, fit-up, installation of process piping, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
- Industrial mechanic experience, including equipment installation, alignment, repair, and routine maintenance in heavy industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical documentation, and to use standard measuring and hand tools accurately.
- Commitment to safety, including proper use of PPE, adherence to site safety rules, and awareness of hazards in industrial settings.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., welding certifications, OSHA safety training) and prior experience in chemical, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities are highly beneficial.
