Job Description
About Parenthood Together
Parenthood Together is a content brand for parents who want better information and a smarter community around everyday parenting. We help parents find products that earn trust, routines that hold up under daily pressure, and the perspective that comes from other parents doing the work alongside them. Our editorial content, Facebook community, and Substack carry the conversation.
About the Role
This is a six-week paid internship for someone who can take an article from raw WordPress draft to fully published, SEO-optimized, visually complete content — and who wants to understand what it takes to run the editorial infrastructure of a content brand from the inside. You will also coordinate directly with our developer on the Parenthood Together Awards website build, which launches in Fall 2026,
You will work directly with the founder. You will leave with a published body of editorial work, hands-on experience managing a real content pipeline, and a clear understanding of how search, content, and site architecture work together.
What You Will Own
Editorial Production
– Edit and finalize article drafts in WordPress — structure, headers, formatting, and internal links
– Source, size, optimize, and place images for every article — including licensing review, compression, and alt text
– Apply SEO best practices across all published content: keyword alignment, meta descriptions, URL structure, and heading hierarchy
– Manage WordPress categories and taxonomy to keep the site architecture clean and scalable
Website Coordination
– Serve as the editorial liaison with our developer on the Parenthood Together Awards platform build
– Coordinate content requirements, QA milestones, and launch readiness for new site builds
– Flag and track issues between editorial and technical — nothing falls through the cracks
What You Will Learn
– How editorial content and search work together to build long-term organic reach
– How to manage a content production queue independently without oversight on every task
– What it takes to coordinate between editorial and technical teams at a founding-stage company
– How to apply SEO principles that actually move rankings — not just satisfy plugin scores
Who We Are Looking For
– Working knowledge of WordPress — you have published or edited content in it before
– Genuine understanding of SEO fundamentals, beyond green lights and into actual strategy
– Sharp attention to detail and a systematic approach to quality control
– Comfortable communicating with a developer and following up without being chased
– Canva for basic visual work is a plus
– HubSpot SEO certification or equivalent is a plus
– Recent graduate, current student, or self-taught practitioner welcome
The Mentorship
The founder has 25 years of experience building global media and advertising campaigns at scale and has led multiple companies through founding stages. Weekly working sessions will cover brand strategy, content operations, AI-first workflows, and the principles behind building a category brand. Few internships put you across the table from this depth of operating experience.
Logistics
Dates: July 6 to August 14, 2026 (six weeks)
Format: Remote, with scheduled weekly working sessions
Time commitment: 8 hours per week
Compensation: $1,000 program stipend
Academic credit: Eligible where applicable — we will coordinate with your program coordinator on request
Outcome: Strong performers will be considered for a continued role with the company
Program Terms
– This is a fixed-term internship. Continuation beyond the program is not guaranteed and would require a separate offer.
– Engaged on a 1099 contractor basis. Standard onboarding paperwork includes a W-9 and a confidentiality agreement.
– Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program.
– Parenthood Together is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds.
Why This Role Is Different
Most editorial internships have you editing into a template that someone else built. This one has you building the template. You will set the standard for how Parenthood Together articles are published — the SEO structure, the image workflow, the category system. What you build will be the foundation the editorial team inherits. And you will work alongside a developer shipping real features for a product launch. That is not a common intern experience.
To Apply
Send a short note (no formal cover letter) addressing the following:
– One social campaign, content system, or technical project you wish you had built — and why
– One AI tool or workflow you think more brands should be using
– A link to anything you have made: a post, a project, a site, a portfolio, a GitHub repo
Email: [email protected]
Application deadline: June 15, 2026
Pay: $15\.00 per hour
Work Location: Remote
